What it is like

A shrub or tree. It grows 15 m high. The leaves are small. They are 7 cm long by 2 cm wide. The fruit are 2 cm long and usually oval. There are 2 subspecies.

subspecies angustifolia occurs in Zimbabwe.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in the understorey in dense evergreen forests.
