What it is like
A yam. The tubers are arranged vertically. They are cylinder shaped. The stems twine to the left and have grey hairs. The leaves are simple and alternate. The leaf stalk is 4-11 cm long. The leaves are kidney shaped to round and 7-15 cm long by 10-18 cm across.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. In Yunnan it grows between 1,000-2,800 m above sea level.
