What it is like
A shrub. It grows to about 2 m high. The leaves have stalks. The leaves are heart shaped. They are softly hairy. They have 3-5 lobes. The lobes taper to the tip. They have teeth. The flowers are pinkish or dull red. They are in erect clusters 9 cm long. The fruit is a berry. It is red and has glandular hairs.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. In Nepal it grows between 2200-3300 m altitude. It grows in open woodlands. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
