What it is like
A woody herb. It can grow 1.5 m tall. The stems are angular and can be erect, arch over or lie over. The leaves have one leaflet. The leaves are 1-15 cm long by 1-5 cm wide. The seeds are kidney shaped and 2 mm long.
There are about 350 Desmodium species. They are mostly in the tropics.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows from sea level to 2,000 m above sea level.
