What it is like
A much branched coarse shrub. It grows and lives on other trees. The twigs are greyish brown. The leaves are opposite and scattered. The flower cluster has several flowers around a stalk. The fruit are long and round and thickly covered with a greyish white powder-like substance.
There are about 10 Loranthus species.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. These are parasites on a number of different hosts of the lowland regions of the Philippines. They are more common in central Luzon.

The fleshy portion of the fruit is eaten raw when ripe.
