What it is like
A tree. It grows to 35 m tall. The trunk can be 1 m across. The leaves are 6-15 cm long. They are smooth and pointed at both ends. The flowers are small and yellowish white. They are carried on slender spikes. These grow from the axils of leaves. The fruit are 5 cm long and 3 cm across. They are smooth and dark red. They are fleshy and acid.
There are about 200-250 Terminalia species. They are tropical.

A tropical plant. It grows in the tropical lowlands.
