What it is like

A tree. It grows 10-15 m tall. The flowers are hairy. The bark is rough and pale grey and splits along its length. The leaves are 12-25 cm long. There are 9-11 leaflets. These are 4-7 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. The flower panicles are 8-10 cm long by 6-7 cm wide. The flowers are about 5 mm across. They are pale yellow. The pods are oblong and 5-8 cm long by 1-2 cm wide. There is usually one kidney shaped seed.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. In southern China it grows in open forests and beside villages between 100-500 m above sea level. In XTBG Yunnan.
