What it is like

A large tree. It grows to 35 m high. The trunk can be 1.5 m across. The leaves are compound and alternate. There are 6-8 pairs of opposite leaflets. These are 12-20 cm long by 3-4 cm wide. There is a leaflet at the end. The fruit are fleshy and 2-3.5 cm long by 1-1.5 cm wide. They are blue when ripe. They have one seed.

Most Dacryodes have edible fruit.
