What it is like

A tree. It grows 30 m tall. The leaves are 20-25 cm long. There are 7-9 leaflets. The leaves are 5-14 cm long by 2-6 cm wide. They are hairy underneath. The fruiting spike is 25-30 cm long. The nutlets are round and 7 mm wide.

It has medicinal value. There is only one Cyclocarya species.


Where it is found

It is a high altitude in subtropical zones. It grows in high mountain regions in southern China.
