What it is like
An erect herb. It keeps growing from year to year. It grows 70-100 cm high. It has a stout taproot. It is cylinder shaped and tapering and has lines along it. There are leaves at the base and along the stalk. These are oval or triangle shaped and have a sheath at the base of the leaf stalk. The blades are 10-16 cm long by 7-10 cm wide. They are divided 3 times. The flowers are white and in compound groups at the ends of the plant. The plant has a citrus smell when young and anise smell at maturity.

It is a temperate plant. In Sichuan.
