What it is like
A shrub. The branches are 4 sided with wings. The leaves do not have stalks and occur as 4 in a ring. They are oblong and narrow at the base. The flowers are large. The fruit are round and red.
There are about 400 Medinilla species. An unresolved name in The Plant List. It is used as medicine.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows in valleys and on the banks of rivers.
