What it is like
A small to medium shrub. It can grow 1-3 m high and spreads 0.5-2 m wide. The leaves are 1-8 cm long by 0.6 cm wide. They are alternate. The leaves can be broad or narrow and green to silver. The flowers are cream, deep pink or red and like tubes. They are 3.5 cm long. The fruit is oval and 1 cm long. It is glossy and has a beak.
There are about 180 Eremophila species. They occur in Australia. Also put in the family Myoporaceae.

It grows in warm temperate and arid to semiarid regions. It needs well drained soil. It suits dry soils and can grow in full sun or light shade. It can stand light frosts. It can grow in arid places. It suits hardiness zones 9-11.
