What it is like
A herb which keeps growing from year to year. It grows 10-30 cm high and spreads 20-60 cm wide. It has an underground rhizome or stem. It forms mats. The stems are square and branched. They can root at the nodes. The leaves are 0.5-4 cm long by 0.2-0.7 cm wide. They are broadest in the middle. They are opposite and have very short stalks. The flowers are small and pinkish white. They occur in clusters of 3-8 in rings in the axils of upper leaves. The fruit are small and rough.
