What it is like

A herb. It keeps growing from year to year. It grows 10-15 cm tall. It has a taproot and the leaves are in a ring. It has side, shoot bearing roots. There are several creeping stems with nodes 1-7 cm apart and roots form at these as well as one leaf. The leaves are oval and 1-3 cm long by 1-2 cm wide. The flowering stems arise from the ring of leaves.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. It grows in moist areas on gravelly mountain slopes between 1,500-2,000 m above sea level.
