What it is like
A tree. It is hairy and 5-12 m high. The leaves are slightly leathery and opposite. They are narrowly oblong. They are 4-9 cm long and 2-4 cm wide. The flowers are orange-red. They are in groups of 4-6. They are in clusters on side buds on last year's growth. The fruit is an oval capsule 8-14 cm long by 6-8 mm wide.
