What it is like
A shrub. It loses its leaves during the year. It grows 4 m tall. The leaves are oval and 2-4 cm long by 2-3 cm wide. The flowers are white and the fruit are red. They are 7-8 mm across.

It is a temperate plant. It grows in mixed forests and beside streams between 1,200-3,500 m above sea level. In Sichuan and Yunnan
