What it is like

A small tree. It grows 15 m tall. The crown is rounded. The young leaves are red. The leaves have leaflets along the stalk. The leaves are 25 cm long. There are 4-8 pairs of leaflets. These are 12 cm long by 4 cm wide. They are bright shiny green on both surfaces. The edges are wavy. The flowers are small and white. They are 3 mm across. The fruit is a red capsule 2.5 cm across. It has 3 lobes. There is an angular seed in each lobe and this has a yellow layer or aril around it.
