What it is like
An evergreen tree. It grows 7-20 m tall. The leaves are narrowly oval and 8-25 cm long by 3-10 cm wide. The flowers occur in the stems on short woody spurs. The flowers are in groups of 15-30 flowers. They are red or purple. The fruit are oval or round and 2-3 cm long by 2 cm wide.
