What it is like

A low shrub. It is often low and along the ground but can be 1 m high when amongst other shrubs. The leaves and narrow and 5-15 mm long. They are fleshy and crowded on the small branches. The flowers are small and rounded. They are hidden at the base of the leaves.

It grows in tropical and temperate places. It grows on limestone outcrops. It also grows on limy soils. It does best in a light to medium, well-drained soil. It needs an open sunny position.
