What it is like

A woody creeper or vine. The branches have 6 wings and ridges along them. The tendrils are not branched. The leaves are simple and oval or triangle shape 6-10 cm long by 4-8 cm wide. The fruit are round berries about 1 cm across. There are 1 or 2 seeds.

There are about 200-350 Cissus species. There are about 75 species in tropical America.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. It grows in riverside forests between 100-400 m above sea level in southern China.
