What it is like

A shrub. The stems are arching. The leaves vary in shape. They can be simple, have deep lobes or have 3 leaflets. The leaves are about 6 cm across. There are teeth around the edge. The flowering shoots are 13 cm long and branched. There are many small flowers. The fruit is oval and has a pointed tip. They are 3 cm long by 2 cm wide.

There are about 200-350 Cissus species. There are about 75 species in tropical America.
