What it is like
A fig. It is a shrub or climber. It has rooting branches. There are 2 stipules or leafy structures at the base of leaves. They are sword shaped with yellow silky hairs. The leaf blade is oval and the base is rounded. The leaf blade is 7-12 cm long by 3-5 cm wide. There are dense brown hairs underneath. The fig is oblong and 6-8 cm long by 3-4 cm wide. The surface is hairy. The stalk is 1 cm long and with dense thick hairs.
There are about 800-1000 Ficus species. They are mostly in the tropics. There are 120 Ficus species in tropical America.
Where it is found
A subtropical plant. It grows in Fujian province in China and in Taiwan.
