What it is like
A small shrub. It forms rhizomes. It grows 2 m tall. The leaves are opposite and sword shaped. They are 8-13 cm long. They usually have 3 lobes. The leaves are glossy green and they have teeth along the edge. The leaf stalk is 0.5-1 cm long. The flower head has several sweet smelling flowers. They are at the end of the plant. The fruit is dry and one seeded. It is 3 mm long.
There are about 40 Eupatorium species.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It grows in moist grasslands near rivers. It also grows on the edges of forests between 200-1,900 m above sea level. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
