What it is like

A shrub. It grows 2-3 m high. The stems are dark purple. There are some curved bristles. The leaves are simple and broadly oval. They are 4-11 cm long by 3-5 cm wide. The base is rounded and there are teeth along the edge. The are prickles along the veins underneath. The flowers are small and white. The fruit is purple-black and 1 cm across.


Where it is found

It is a warm temperate plant. It grows in the warmer regions of China. It grows in mixed forests and beside streams between 300-1,500 m above sea level. In Sichuan.
