What it is like

A shrub. It is 1-3 m high. The leaves are simple and alternate. They are 3-5 cm long by 2-2.5 cm wide. The fruit stalk is large. It is 3-3.5 cm long. The fruit is 5-6 cm long and 3-4 cm wide. It is a composite fruit. The seeds are black.

There are about 100-150 Annona species.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. It grows at an altitude of 500 m in Bolivia. It grows in wet soils. In Argentina it grows from sea level to 1,000 m above sea level.
