What it is like
A bamboo. It grows 4-6 m high. The culms are 1-2.5 cm across. The internodes are 28-40 cm long. There are 5-18 branches at each node. There are 2-3 leaves on the last branch. The leaves are 5-8 cm long by 1 cm wide.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It grows in Yunnan in China at about 3,800 m altitude.
