What it is like
An erect or twining herb. It grows 15-40 cm tall. It forms tubers. The leaves are opposite and with short stalks. The leaves are narrowly sword shaped and 9 cm long by 1 cm wide. The flowers are usually in groups of 3 in the axils of leaves. The fruit are follicles 9 cm long by 0.4 cm wide. There are many seeds.
