What it is like

A tree. It grows 25 m tall. The leaves are oval or heart shaped and 13-20 cm long by 10-13 cm wide. They are thick and leathery. There are 7-15 flowers in a group. They are spoon shaped and pale red to pale purple with purple spots.

Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. It grows on slopes between 700-1,300 m above sea level. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
