What it is like

An evergreen tree. The leaves are narrowly oval and 10-20 cm long by 5-9 cm wide. There are some teeth along the edge near the tip. The leaf stalk is smooth and 2-3 cm long. The seed or nut is cone shaped and 14-16 mm across. It is in a flattened round capsule.


Where it is found

It is a subtropical plant. It grows in Yunnan in China. It grows in forests between 500-800 m above sea level.
