There are 100 Cassia species. This group has been revised to a smaller more consistent group. Also as Caesalpinaceae.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. They mainly occur in the tropical lowlands.

The leaves of some species have been reported as eaten. CAUTION Many Cassia species contain poisonous alkaloids. They should only be eaten with extreme caution.
