What it is like
A tree. It grows 55 m tall. The leaves are opposite and with 3 leaflets. The leaves are 11-16 cm long by 6-8 cm wide. There are irregular teeth along the edge. The fruit are round and 8 cm across. The seeds are narrowly oval and 4-5 cm long by 1.5-2 cm wide.
The Caryocaraceae occur in tropical America. There are 16 Caryocar species.
