What it is like
A shrub or small tree. It can grow 10 m tall. The branches are slender and can have short hairs. The leaves are narrowly oval and 14-22 cm long by 3-6 cm wide. The fruit are oblong and yellow when ripe. They are 3.5-4 cm long by 1.8-2.3 cm wide. They have 6 wings. There are only a few seeds.
There are about 30 Carpotroche species. They are also put in the family Kiggelariaceae and Euphorbiacece. Also put in the Flacourtiaceae family.
