What it is like

A shrub or tree. It grows 2-13 m tall. The leaves are oblong and 9-11 cm long by 3 cm wide. The base is wedge shaped and there are fine teeth along the edge. The flower petals are red. The fruit is red to purple or black. It can be round or oval and 8-13 mm long by 8-9 mm wide.

There are about 11 Carallia species.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. It grows in forest thickets between 300-1,000 m above sea level. In Yunnan
