What it is like

A cactus. It grows 15-20 m high. The main trunk is 60-70 cm across. The flowers come out at night. They are large and white. They are 0-25 cm long. The fruit is oval. The flesh is white.

There are 34-40 Cereus species.

Where it is found

A tropical plant. In Bolivia it grows between 300 and 1500 m altitude.
