What it is like
An evergreen tree. The crown is small and narrow. It grows 12-25 m tall. The trunk is straight and 30-40 cm across. The fruit are 15 cm long by 10 cm wide. There is one large seed 11 cm long by 6 cm wide.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in the Amazon and Atlantic rainforests. It is best on well-drained sloping ground. It can grow in full sun of light shade.
