What it is like
A large herb. It grows 5 m tall. The rhizomes are short and tuberous. The leaves are narrowly oval and 40-100 cm long by 15-40 cm wide. The flowering shoots may or may to be branched and can be loose or close together. The fruit are light yellow and turn green. They have red or purple lumps. The seeds are oval and 4-7 mm long by 2-5 mm wide.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows between 750-2,000 m above sea level.
