What it is like
A small plant. It grows 18-20 cm high and spreads 90-100 cm wide. The leaves are oval. There are 1-3 leaves on each stem and they are 10 cm long. The flowers are small and white. They are fragrant. They are on spikes 5 cm long. The fruit are berries that let the light through. They are pale red.
There are 35 Maianthemum species. There are 8-10 species in tropical America. Also put in the family Malvaceae, Convallariaceae and Liliaceae.

It is a temperate plant. It suits hardiness zones 2-8.
