What it is like
A tree. It grows 10 m tall. The trunk is compressed and has grooves. The fruit is an almost round berry. It is yellow and with 5 sepals on top. The pulp is juicy and edible. There are several angular seeds. The seed coat is leathery.
There are at least 11 Campomanesia species.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in the rainforest especially along rivers.
