What it is like
A creeper or vine. It grows to 25 m long. The stem can be 1 m around or 40 cm across. The fruit is pear shaped and yellow. It is 7.5 cm across. It is edible.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows in closed lowland forests and also in mountain forest. In Nigeria it has been recorded at 1,440 m above sea level.
