What it is like
A spiny climbing palm or rattan. It has an unbranched stem 30 m long and 4-5 cm across. The leaf sheath has fine scattered spines. The fruit are 10 mm long by 6 mm wide. The fruit are scaly.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in forests between 100-800 m above sea level.
