What it is like
A shrub. It grows 2 m high. The bark is dark brown. The branches are angled and have spines. The leaves are oval and entire. They are leathery. The flowers are in small groups. There are 2-7 yellow flowers. The fruit are dark blue berries. They are 12-15 mm across.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It grows in Kazakhstan in the steppes near mountains.
