What it is like
A tree. It grows 15-20 m high. The trunk is large. The crown is rounded. The leaves are simple and crowded near the ends of branches. They are green above and paler underneath. They are broadly oval and 10-14 cm long by 4-5 cm wide. They taper to the base and have a rounded tip. The edges are slightly wavy. The leaf stalks are narrow and 2 cm long. The fruit are yellow-green. They are round and 5 cm across. There are grooves along the fruit. The fruit stalk is 3 cm long. There is a large seed 4 cm long by 3 cm wide and 2.5 cm thick. One side is shiny brown and the other side has a ridge long it.

It is a tropical plant. It grows near the edge of the sea. It is known from only one village in Vanuatu.
