What it is like

A shrub. It forms thickets with arching stems. It has stout prickles. The leaves are like hands with 3-5 leaflets. These have teeth. They are dark green above and white and hairy underneath. The flowers can be pink or white. They are 20-32 mm across. They are in large prickly panicles. The fruit are red but become purplish-black when ripe.
