What it is like
A shrub. It grows 4 m high. The bark is smooth and ash-grey. The branches are often swollen at the base. The leaves are in bundles along the twigs. They only have short leaf stalks. The leaf blade is narrowly oval and 14 mm long by 6 mm wide. They are leathery and covered with hairs. The flowers occur as 2-4 in a group amongst the leaf clusters. The fruit are round and 4-6 mm across.
