What it is like

A small tree. It grows 13 m tall. The leaves are alternate and compound. The flowers are 3 mm across. They are cream coloured and in groups. The fruit are 2.5 cm across. They are red capsules. The seeds have a bright red fleshy layer or aril.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. It can grow up to 1,900 m above sea level. It grows in lowland and hill rainforests.
