What it is like
A shrub. It grows 0.2-2 m high and spreads 0.5-2 m wide. Young growth is yellowish-green. The leaves are 2-6.5 cm long by 0.8-1.8 cm wide. They are narrowly oblong. The leaves are alternate and taper to the base. The flowers are 0.5 cm across. They are white and there are 2-3 together in the axils of leaves. They are on slender stalks. The fruit are 0.4 cm across and round and reddish-purple.
Also put in the family Myoporaceae.
Where it is found
It grows from tropical to warm temperate locations. It needs good drainage. They will grow in salty conditions.
