What it is like
A twining herb. It produces tubers. The stems are slender and smooth. The leaves are oval to sword shaped and 12 cm long by 4 cm wide. They taper to the tip. The flowers are pink or red with green tips. The fruit are 1.5 cm across.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. In Peru it grows at about 3,500 m above sea level.
