What it is like

A straggling herb. It keeps growing from year to year. The stems are woody below. The branches are often reddish. The leaves are opposite and unequal. They are oval and 1-5 cm long by 1-3 cm wide. They are often whitish underneath. The flowers are 3 mm long.

There are about 40 Boerhavia species. They are mostly in the tropics and subtropics.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. In Pakistan it grows up to 2,200 m altitude.
