What it is like

A waterlily. The leaves are green on top but freckled purple. Under the leaves they are red or purple. The veins are green. The leaf is longer than wide. It is 15-20 cm wide. The join of the leaf forms an open V. The leaves with stalks spread 1.2 m wide. The flowers are a pale blue. The flowers are 8-13 cm across.

There are about 50 Nymphaea species.
