What it is like
A small evergreen tree. The flowers are pale yellow or white. The fruit are soft and have a stone inside. They are round or oval. They are 4-10 mm long. They are purple and turn black as they ripen.
There are about 80-100 Neolitsea species. They are mostly in Asia.
Where it is found
It grows between 1500-2500 m altitude in Uttar Pradesh in India.
